Coffee Milk keeps New England dairy-bar language alive. Rhode Island state drink; milk mixed with coffee syrup. In that part of the country, shakes, cabinets, frappes, coffee milk, and ice cream counters became their own regional vocabulary, proof that even a cold drink can carry hometown pride.

Ingredients

3/4 cup cold coffee, espresso, tea, or milk
2 scoops vanilla ice cream or 1 cup ice
2 tablespoons flavored syrup or sauce
1/4 cup milk or cream
Whipped cream, optional
